Depression is one of the most prevalent disorders and it is more than one hundred years that psychological approaches try to discover its origin, symptoms and effective therapeutic interventions. Different types of depression which are defined from Quran perspective, cause getting away from real self and important needs and push the person to ambiguity and ignorance and “Holy Quran” is one of the best sources that guide the human to hope and getting out of depression via increasing self-knowledge. The aim of this study was investigating of the relation between depression types of Quran perspective with Self-knowledge. 214 students from Islamic Azad University, Science and Research branch in Tehran city were selected using voluntarily sampling method. Participants complicated the Quranic Depression Scale (Fayyaz) and Self-knowledge Questionnaire (Ghorbani, Watson & Hargis). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression statistical methods the findings showed that self-knowledge has negative correlation with all types of depression. Humiliation and succession-opposed depression types could predict self-knowledge. In conclusion, different types of depression can effect on self-knowledge score so by eliminating the causal factors of depression of Quran perspective, we can increase self-knowledge. Results are useful for designing the Preventive and therapeutic programs in the future.
